Higher mileage OK?
I'm looking for a truck (early 90s F250, later 90s F150) and I've found a few 90-92 F250's that have struck my fancy. However, my dad's a bit leary of the usual 100-140K that is on the clock. I'm soft of thinking that since it's a truck, especially a 250, that 100K miles isn't really a big deal. Afterall, they were meant to be used, a lot, right? So I suppose my question is, is there a problem going with a higher mileage truck? Do they start developing problems at that age? What should I look out for? If only I had more budget...
Thanks
edit: Thought I might mention the prospective truck is a 92 F250 with a gas V8, stick, and 135K on the clock.
Miles are nothing if a vehicle has been taken care of. I know of several people in town with over 200k on the clock with minimal problems. I know others that purchase extended warranty because they can't seem to make it past 50k without major problems.
It's all in the care...
