Checking to see if anybody else has had the same issues I'm having.....
2018 F350 about 2 weeks ago (upstate pa) things warmed up and roads got wet as i was driving that day i have service advance trac, and check 4x4 lights come on, within 1/4 mile i had to turn, when i did the turn signal would not shut off after making the turn.
shut off truck, restarted and turn signals stopped blinking. lost turn signals after that. later the next evening i was driving at night and noticed i didnt have high beams. or wipers unless on high. and the ebrake light and airbag light flashed once or twice too but never stayed on.
had it at 2 local garages now 1st one said his computer read a comm fault and steering module and electronic transfer module faults
2nd one basically said the same thing, now question is whats the chances of both going out at the same time? ive checked, double checked and triple checked all fuses. i replaced the battery in it as well at the 2nd garage as the life of the battery was at 45% it never gave me issues starting. i have an appt at the ford dealership in a few weeks but was hoping i could figure it out on my own first. i have the clock spring currently out now.
any body else have this or see this happening? thanks
Since all those are controlled by the multi switch it could be the turn signal switch causing it. When a physical switch goes bad it can do all kinds of funky crap with the modules. If you can, you can use Forscan to look up module DTE's and help diagnose, but you need the adapter that plugs into the OBDII port to run Forscan. One of the most handiest tools I found.
Oh, that being left out changes things. Sounds like you could have a harness issue in the dash. I saw something recently where the modules were acting up and turned out the be salt corrosion in the rockers. If you are in salt country, pull the covers off your rockers and look to see if there is any corrosion in here.
