I may be putting a 460 in a 1967 F100 longbed custom cab 2wd
The engine is currently in a wrecked mid 70's ford ranger.
If I do this swap I will add the following aftermarket bolt-ons
-Weiand Stealth Intake manafold
-750 Cfm Carb (unsure of which brand)
-new cam and lifters unsure of what duration but I want a noticibe lope but I don't want to loose much bottom end power
-set of headers( not sure of brand but with 3" collectors)
-dual 3" exhaust dumped at rear axle
Anyone got any recomendations on carbs and cams I am on a tight budget .
The Stealth is a good choice. I'd recomend a Street Demon, over a Holley or Ebok. I've run all three and the Demons are superior. You also might want to look at L&L for the headers...theirs have a 3" collector. To recomend a cam the best thing for you to do is call the cam company (I like Crane, don't like Comp), tell them your combo, and ask for their recomendations. We don't have enough info to help you...we'd need to know at what rpm you want the power, auto vs stick and what stall...stuff like that. But really, the best thing to do is pick a company, then go with their recomendation. Sometime down the line you can throw on some ported dove heads with the cj valves, early timing gear set, and you'll really wake the sleeping giant.
