seeking opinion on side steps

just considering getting side steps for a 2021 ranger supercrew. any expereiced based opinions on which are good..im looking for input on two critieria..1. the width..3-4-or 5 inch widths and 2. brand in terms of best value for price...even used, if someone knows theyd fit..what ones they bought used that worked without needing to modifying anything..

I have the Ford brand running boards on my 2019 and I like them. They're full length and about 5" wide.

ok. thank you. ive been confused since discovering you can get them in different widths. of course, i think they add to the trucks appeal..also are useful. and, since I Love my wife..will also benefit her as well and make her happier! curious, do you feel the width of 5 is pretty nice for the step. i just want to get the right one to start at not cheap out on the smaller width.. Just a question for you..did you find it odd, there was no handle near the drivers side door opening, but there is one on the passenger side..for making getting in a bit easier..maybe its because i cheaped out for the middle package...thanks for your response

I think 5" is a good width. It feels nice & stable to use. A narrower width could be ok, but I haven't tried one.

Yeah, no grab handle on the driver's side sucks. I don't know what Ford was thinking here, it could be very useful. I end up grabbing the steering wheel to get in and grab the door edge (near the mirror) to get out, but it's not as good as the grab handle I had on my old 2004. The running boards help. Maybe all of Ford's testers are 6' tall and don't use the step.
