I know this has been discussed in here but I couldnt find it.
So Im starting a new thread.
2019 F-250 6.2/4.30. 31,000 miles. 3 years May 5.
About 1 out of 5 starts I get a long crank. Never when its been sitting all night. Mostly after sitting at work for 8 hours. Where It sits in a garage at about 55 degrees.
In fact at work it does it every time when leaving for the day.
I remember there being either a warrantee issue or a bulletin about fuel pumps losing pressure and taking 3 or 4 seconds to start.
My question is. Will this continue to deteriorate? Or is it just something I can live with for years with no other side effects?
I also have a bit of seepage at the top of my battery.
I was thinking about bringing it in for warrantee of those 2 items before the factory warrantee runs out.
But I hate dealerships and do not trust the quality of workmanship there at all.
So any info is welcome.
Yea. Not too worried about the battery. I clean it once in a while. It just barely shows wet.
The thread starting in 2017 was a different one. But some of the guys in that older one had 3 pumps and it still did it again.
I really have no issue with the truck in 3 years and if it doesnt get worse Id rather leave it alone than give it to the dealer.
My 17 6.2 has Had the long crank since new, we actually have 3 17’s at work that all have the long crank issue. I have 180k on the truck now and it has never changed for the worse or better. It never does it on a cold start but it does seem to be worse with humidity. I live in Minnesota and on hot days with high humidity it will do it nearly every time it gets started after sitting in a hot soak for more than a half hour and less than maybe 3-4 hours. We actually just put a new fuel pump in my truck the other day so time will tell if that cured it or not. It reminds me of an old carbureted 351 that would vapor lock after a hot soak.

Yea, thats what I was hoping to hear.
So far its not causing anything but my ears to perk up.
Never on a cold start. Always after driving 17 miles to work and parking inside the shop at 55 degrees or so for 8 hours. And really I cant say that its happened much anywhere else.
I guess Ill end up doing a starter 10% sooner.
I have read of guys trucks stummbling after it happens and barely running until it clears. If it does that Ill fix it.

Mine runs rough for the first 5 seconds or so nearly every time it has the long crank. It has been doing that for a few years too. The long crank has been since the truck was nearly new.
2017 F-350 with 6.2 here. 205k miles now and I'm on my 5th or 6th fuel pump. It will start doing the long crank and get progressively worse. Never has it left me stranded or not started though. I think the dealer covered them to 100k under drivetrain warranty. Now it's been getting covered under parts warranty occasionally if they go out within a year. I have always figured there was something wrong with the wiring that was causing it, but they have never found anything.
