I’m sitting outside of TJ Maxx like a properly domesticated dad, and staring at the stickers on my visors of my new truck. Can these stickers been cleanly removed?
1st.... good on ya for being a good Dad
I don't think so. The fabric that cover that area is cheapo stuff.
I was going to go to a Fabric store, Michaels or Joanne, and get either Felt fabric that color and glue it over it - less noticeable. Or those Knee patches but I couldn't get a good color match on my car that I just got rid of.
I've not done it yet to the truck because I am deciding on selling it or not.
I tried one of mine, you can still see the mark as the glue gets down in the fabric. My vette is suede so they came off clean. Going to just try and ignore them.
Yes.
Hair dryer hot without killing the fabric. Peel off sticker.
Wet it some with rubbing alcohol.Get a mild stiffness dog/pet brush (nylon) and scrub it while applying gentile heat.
Takes a few tries. I have pics of my visors and brush if needed.
Really?
Got a pic of what it looks like afterwards?
I couldn't even get the dirt off my head liner in my car because I was afraid it would just rub off the fluff they stick on
It would be cool if something like a piece of window tint could be applied. You might could still read the sticker, but not quite so garish.
My stickers don't bother me, but if they did I might give that a try.
Have custom vinyl stickers made with whatever you want, or just buy vinyl wrap material in whatever color and cut to cover the warning labels. I had custom EcoBoost ones made for an F150 it worked fantastic.
I commented to my wife that I couldn't believe people cared about not seeing the stickers.
Evidently she does and wants me to do it to her Sienna, my 150, and the 350 when it arrives.
I'm a little worried about selling a vehicle with the stickers removed, I'm thinking I'll get some visors from the junkyard and do as the guy above did with carefully removing the stickers. Then I can swap the originals back on if/when it comes time to sell. Plus if I mess it up I only damaged some junkyard takeoffs.
Michael's craft store has these ORACAL 651 in 43 colors. $1.49 - $2.49 each 12" x 12". That would mean almost 17" on the diagonal. A squared + B squared = C squared
