Compression question

I did a compression test on my 02 7.3 and found cylinder 3 at 150 running. Smoking like a dog, so I unhooked 3 and and put it all back together and I'm gonna run it. Is that ok and if so how long?

Not a great idea to run it that way. The vibration that results is bad for a lot of the components in the engine especially the crank. You will also be fumigating everyone around you with unburnt fuel with running compression that low.

Compression that low is probably a broken ring. You may soon end up with coolant in the crankcase as the cylinder wall will get a groove worn into it.

That's when machine work gets expensive.

Do you have alot of blow by with ccv vent plugged? If so probably rings. Don't have alot of blow by? probably a valvetrain issue.
