another 65 ford question

I went to look at a 65 ford custom cab last night. the guy told me it was a custom cab, and the doors had the chrome letters on them, but the dash was the standard cab kind, circular. did they make custom cabs with standard intrument clusters?

Thanks

Glen

I saw one at Chimney Rock this year. Nice truck. But I remember the cluster looked normal with the circular. Had Mustang bucket seats. Sharp truck.

Cool Not All CUSTOM CABS were the same

Glen,

Back on October 21st, isendel posted question on custom cabs. The last time I saw that post it was on page 3 of this forum. It had a lot of info on custom cab accoutraments & appointments. Not all "CC"s were same, because other option packages could comingled in with them.

I'd tell you check serial number either here, or site I just posted about 61-66 F series Bodys. . . . on their "VIN Decoder.

Custom cabs were not like Rangers, XLTs, or Lariats, in that CC is not a "package" it's a single option and the only thing I'm sure all had in common, besides script & emblems and a few other things, was a better seat. But compared to seat in , say. . . . a 77 or 78 Ranger XLT, or a 79 Lariat XLT, 65-66 Custom Cab seats leave a lot to be desired & IMHO standard cab seats are uselessly uncomfortable!

I think that swept style instrument cluster came with an optional guage package, similar to the rallye pack guages in Mustangs. If your guages are standard guages, or a combo of guages & lights, your speedo will most likely be standard ol' "Plane Jane" style.

FBp.
