We have the exact opposite problem. The gas gauge on our 1993 Pace Arrow reads "empty" no matter how much gas is in the tank...

Our problem was a cracked fuel sending unit float ball, a ten dollar part, but $250 labor to drop and re-install the fuel tank. The cracked float ball sank to the tank bottom, sending an "empty" signal no matter how much fuel was in the tank.

Perhaps your fuel sending unit float ball is somehow stuck at or near the top, causing it to send a "full" signal no matter how much fuel is in the tank?

I have the same problem. Sometimes it reads full when I have half a tank but it has never read empty when I have a full tank. It has only happened about a couple of times, once about a year after I got the truck and a couple of times last week but seems to be fine now. I keep an eye on my odometer just to be on the safe side

Same problem, mine reads higher than should and will give different readings each time ignition is turned on. I would appreciate any advice. Mark

I had the same problem, took it to Ford, and was told that the fuel sensor was "burned out." I was also told by the technician to completly turn off the truck when refueling. For some reason when truck is left on, and gassed up fuel sensor acts up (i.e. showing false reading). Since then I completly shut down the truck while gassing and I don't have the problem anymore. Hope this helps.
