I'm new here and I have a 81 f150 with a 71 302 I had to re wire the ignition to a switch panel and it was cranking and fired the night I got it hooked up the morning came and I tried to start her up and it just clicked so I replaced the solenoid the starter and battery is brand new and the battery was on a charger all night. But the solenoid is making this whining noise I've redone the cables and made sure they are tight but it's not cranking/firing just whining anyone got a idea?

Does your truck still have the fender-mounted starter relay, aft of the battery? If so, add a ground jumper between the relay base and the battery (-) terminal.
Not sure what's going on with the ignition switch you've added, but when battery power is supplied to the small S terminal on the starter relay, this big remote switch sends power to the starter. The extra ground wire helps provide maximum power to the internal electromagnet, so the contacts clamp together as tightly as possible to send power to the starter with minimum restriction.

It may seem intimidating, but it's a simple 5 minute test that will pinpoint exactly why your starter system is misbehaving.
If the symptoms changed after replacing the starter relay, it's possible your new relay was bad out of the box:

What happens when you take one side of a jumper cable, and jump one large wire on the solenoid to the other large wire on the solenoid? In other words jump the two large connections on the solenoid. MAKE SURE IT'S IN NEUTRAL. Make sure you use a standard jumper cable with the large wire.
