distributor for 400
hi i want to get a new dist. for my 79 400 .....and was wondering if u guys would have any suggestions on any dist....and possibly prices? its already got accel superstocks wires and super stock volt coil....what would b a good dist.? thanks kevin gross

I just E-mailed Summit about the slim selection of parts that they have for the 351M/400 .
Let you know what they have to say.
BTW, I'm looking for a good engine man in central Iowa that'll let me bring in the parts that I want put on the engine! (lots-of-luck)

I agree with Danlee that the duraspark distributor is well built and reliable.
but when should you think about replacing it? mine has about 145K miles on it. I replaced the pick-up module in it last yr TWICE, but thats another story. and recently part of the plastic broke which holds the clips from falling off when you change the cap, no big deal right. it has very little if any slop or movement in the shaft.
I guess my question is how long do they last approx?
