3G network shutdown impact on SYNC system

2016 Ford Edge - Sync 3 Issues
Having issues with my Sync 3 with Phone Disconnecting and No GPS occasionally plus some delay when touching options on screen. So with 3G being phased out, wondering if an issue. Does anyone know if these older vehicles have a so called 3G modem or 3G antenna that could be affected??? I do have an update to do with an USB flash drive as mine is not capable over WiFi. Any help???

Sorry, I won't be of any help. My truck is a 2015 F350 with the Sync 3 and I have not had any problems yet. I have a 2018 Edge with the Sync and it has had a few issues lately where it did not want to recognize the phone. I removed the phone and reconnected it and have not had any problems for a few weeks now.
