(that said.. plug something into the power point, and see if it controls it. I have seriously considered that, because it's always hot, and I have stuff I don't want "on" when the truck is off. I replaced the lower power point in ours with a 2 port USB, with a on/off switch)
It looks like it was probably to turn on and off the factory rear entertainment add on option.
Was your rear entertainment system added as an aftermarket upgrade or was it factory installed? On my Ex the system is factory and all controls run thru the radio or the DVD player.
