I noticed today that the driver's mirror isn't traveling down as far as the passenger's does when I put the truck into reverse. When I first enabled the system 3 months ago, they were going down the same distance.
Has anyone had this happen to them?
It's the 8th thing on the list of new repairs for the dealer. I've only had the truck for 3 months now and already have a big thick folder from one dealer. I'm about to go back to my selling dealer for these repairs in a few weeks. Hopefully I won't be told "yes I hear the squeak, but we can't fix it" from my selling dealer.
Mine worked great for 3 months. Then, they started "popping" when trying to go down in reverse. The dealer replaced the module and both motors. Now, neither mirror goes down as far as it used to, and the drivers side does not go down as far as the passenger side. It is on my list for the next time mine goes in.
When I picked up my new F-150 I noticed the passenger side mirror was out of wack. Someone must have bumped into it . Anyway, after correcting the mirror housing, when I tried to adjust the mirror itself from inside it didn't have the range of motion as the drivers side. I got out again and gently pushed on the glass. You'll hear a light clicking sound. What you are doing is re-centering the mirror on the adjustable mount. Now I can make it so low I can almost see under the truck. But, now I can't see the roof! Give it a try. Hope it works.
I had the same problem with my mirrors... clicking and popping.
There does seem to be a common problem with these.
The dealer replaced the module and later the left mirror and next week the
right mirror will be replaced. My only real complaint is that I wish they had taken care of this all at one time.
