Mlps repin help e4od

I finally got the e4od in that I have been waiting on. I cannot get a hold of the guy that has the original e4od from the truck. I've been searching threads for hours and just want to make sure the diagram I found is correct since I don't have the old mlps to compare. Please let me know if this looks correct.

Also have found several ways to adjust the mlps. Some have said to try and line up the marks on the mlps while it's in nuetral. Some say turn the key on and move until back up lights come on while in reverse. Is one way better than the other? Thanks guys!

I assume you are repinning the MLPS because the transmission has the newer MLPS connector? If so the pin-outs are the same. Your diagram is correct.

The most reliable way to adjust the MLPS is place the transmission in neutral then align the marks.

I had to buy a new mlps. The old one was left on the original transmission, and the guy that was supposed to rebuild it went mia. So glad he didn't end up doing it. And the new one has the different connector. Appreciate the help. You guys have been tremendous with the help you have given me

Good info in this post from Subford: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post18673091

He posted photos of the old style and new style MLPS connectors and the installation instructions.

Thank you that is very informative. Mine does however have 8 wires going to it. In the link I believe there are only 6. It definitely still gives alot of great info. I am going to try and go off the 8 wire diagram. From my searches (and your conformation) think I'll be good to go. I will update as soon as I am done getting this thing back together

The 8 wire MLPS is used on trucks with electronic 4X4 shift. Since the wires are there just do a wire for wire exchange and you should be good.
