As I mentioned a couple weeks ago, the reproduction rear spring swing hangers I bought have lock pin holes that are too large for the stock sized spindle lock pin. The pin slides in too far to be tightened securely. I measured my old, worn out hangers and they have a smaller diameter lock pin hole. The lower spindle also seems to have a little slop to the fit. Is this normal or should it fit tightly with no play? This is the spindle in the end of the hanger without bushings. Has anyone else had problems with their reproduction swing hangers?
I got a few more suspension parts blasted and painted. Can't believe I'm painting in November!
THose holes should be a tight fit without any slop. Do the supplier of the hangers have new pins available?I'd call and explain the problem to them and ask about pins. They may not be aware of a problem with them.
Kevin; Are you speaking of the six (6) # 21 C-5780 shackel pins ? that are tapered, and have a groove in them. If so ,yes you have a bad set of TAAA 5776 hangers . do your pins fit the other rear brackets ok? Send them back! Jim VA.
Those are the pins. They fit my old hangers fine. I must have a bad set of hangers. Not sure if I can do anything about it. I bought them from a NOS vendor at Pigeon Forge. These are clearly reproductions and poor ones at that.
Jim,
Did you get yours at John's F-Fun Hundreds (f100.com) or somewhere else?
Thanks!
