Generally, when its cold out (below 20F), i drive with the exhaust brake on because it seems to build and retain heat a little better. EB has always worked just fine until today. I pressed the button, it flashed the message `Exhaust Brake Engaged` or whatever it says, om the dash, but it flashed the message rapidly about 5 times in a row, then it went off and the brake did not engage. After that, the button went non-responsive, truck or dash does nothing when pushed. Its about 6 degrees here, so coldest i`ve ever been in with this truck. Thought it was weird but drove away. After a bit, truck was warm, i pulled over, shut the truck off for about 5 minutes, restarted and still nothing. The button is completely non-responsive. No codes, nothing on the dash, not sure where to start trouble shooting. Is it just the cold? Any ideas welcome. Truck is a `19 6.7, emissions in tact, no tuning.
run the pcm for codes. in the mean time, use tow haul mode.
I used to use my EB in the past but not now. I drive in T/H mode and helps with slowing the truck down on the hills coming down. It works really well for me.

T/H mode works well, but it hear hangs a bit too much for my liking when unloaded. Hopefully, it was just a fluke and it starts working again tomorrow.
And... the exhaust brake brought itself back to life this morning. It was even colder this morning than last night, EB cycled on just fine so must have just glitched out or something yesterday. I'll keep an eye on it and see if it happens again.
