I have a 1999 f250 super duty when I turn the **** to engage it into 4 wheel I hear it engage in transfer case but I dont get any traction in the rear, what could be the issue?
Try locking your hubs manually if you have that option. When you engage 4X it engages the power to the front axle. If you don't have added traction from the front axle it's either not engaging or if you have automatic hubs they are not engaging. Also seen people pull the front drive shaft out and never told anyone.

Just to be 100% clear on this matter, you are saying that when in 2WD everything is fine, but when you engage 4WD you have the front wheels pulling but not the rears? Correct? If that is the case, you have internal issues in your transfer case.
