Shifting issues

Well really not happy about this, but my 2019 F-450 seems to be having an issue shifting from park to….anything.

I pull it forward and try to go to R or N (most of the time for N. In the video this time of course it went to N lol) and get nothing. It won’t show the indications nor go into position. It WILL go into D or M fairly easily. After moving down to those positions it WILL go into R or N.

is there something that can be adjusted? Or is it most likely a real issue?

(I’m aware that only a mechanic can really tell and I won’t be doing the work myself, just looking for possibilities)

2019 F-450 105K miles, no warranty at this time. Probably gonna get the inspection and buy a factory warranty.

thanks in advance.

On Facebook someone suggested a bad MLPS switch. Thoughts?

Sometimes getting out of park is a brake pedal switch issue. Switch could be loose mechanically, bad connector, or just broken. Try wiggling things around the brake pedal And check to see if your brake lights are working, along with cruise control, etc.

Just a thought.

thanks for the response. Cruise and lights both work. I’ll see if the switch is tight though when I get home.
