2002 F150 4.6L running rough

Please see inspection report from service center. This is my brothers truck and i have ben trying to help him out over the phone. He reported it was running rough to me and i had him get a OBD code reader and the first code was P0356 Bad coil cylinder 6. He found that the #6 coil had a bolt missing and he replaced the coil and the bolt and said it ran a little better but still missing interment. Just had a mechanic do a diagnosis and this is what they found. With that all being said truck has 163231 miles on it and most likely not maintained like should be. Some of this from the mechanic is over my head and would like some feed back if possible. What s your advice?

The findings are the findings. Not much to say otherwise.

You can follow the recommendations or if you don't feel comfortable with the recommendations, you can go to another shop and get a second opinion.

If you can do any of these yourself that would save money.

Your priority will be the cylinder head gaskets. Fuel injection service IMO is just a way of upping the bill. You can do the same with a couple of cans of injector cleaner, unless they are going to remove them and clean them off the engine. Since they suggest what is basically a bill padding service, I'd confirm the cylinder head leak from another shop, or he can buy self test kits and do it himself. Sometime you can smell exhaust from the radiator or overflow and confirm.

He can clean the engine himself with engine cleaner and a pressure wash at a local wash place. Then monitor for fluid leaks. It doesn't say whether he regapped or replaced #6 spark plug? If nothing was done, then miss could be that. If the cylinder head gaskets do get replaced, hand them 8 plugs and have them replace the old ones while the heads are off to save you any hassles. Easy to do then.

Having all those circuit faults point to a weak battery/electrical system at some point. If they don't come back, ignore that they were there.

Head gaskets

They decided to do the head gaskets. Thanks for the opinions.
