If my heater is squeaking, should I replace the heater core?

Bad fan motor. Heater core doesn't move or make noise - just holds antifreeze. To get to the fan, you have to follow the same steps as replacing the heater core - they are in the same place.

Does you pickup have a/c?

for a few months my fan was squeeking.
recently it doesn't start without a good tap or kick
i'm gonna have to get to that before it gets to -30(celsius)
