Good question. My window sticker shows Parking Aid (reverse vehicle aid sensor) as an option so I assume it got shipped from the factory already installed. It would be tough to install after the fact unless you had a special punch to punch the holes in the bumper which If I recall are not perfectly round. The module is up in the passenger footwell so there would need to be a connector there if you were to add it, as well as a connector at the push button over ride switch on the dash.
Thanks mine is a2001 and it has them,I messed up my bumper and I was wondering if it was put on later, but it looks likes it came from the factory with them. Thanks
I bent my bumper too and it made one of the sensors go crazy. I was able to remove the bumper and straighten it with a chunk of 2X4 and a BFH. Everything works normal now.
I just bought a 02 f350 with these sensors and the button on the dash. The button is always lit up saying off and i can get it to shut off but as soon as i put it reverse it says its off? My 01 that i wrecked did not have this feature so i'm not 100% how it should work. thanks

It might be the module which is located in the passenger side footwell behind the right side panel. Mine had got wet and the system wouldn't work. If you have AutoEnginuity you can trouble shoot with that.
