DPF delete

I recently purchased a deleted 2015 from a dealership. The exhaust was not included. I would like to return it to stock. I can get a setup here local. It is for an 2018 however. Are they interchangeable?

I have no idea but I am interested...

Is it just the DPF that is deleted? or are you wanting to put just the DPF back on?

I am curious as to why?

I would like to put it back on. The inspection is to much of a hassle and for me the benefits don't add up.

What state do you live in?

The thing is it's not just the DPF, it is the EGR, DEF and DPF for emissions. The DPF/DEF are one continuous component. Could get spendy.

I'm not sure if an 18 dpf will work on 15 or not, but this sure sounds like a headache. Is the egr still intact? I'd be willing to bet the egr valve is frozen too. Def tank may need flushed out as well. Think the dealership should be responsible to sort all that out, not you. Good luck

When I have such a question, I go online and lookup those who sell the part to see what the application range is and if there might be engineering issues to overcome. I did just that and it appears the rocket (DPF/DEF system) fits 2011-2019 with only sensor locations being different, which is easy to overcome. As was referenced, you need the EGR and the factory tune to restore the system to factory spec.

Egr is on the truck it was never removed. I do have the tuner with factory tune. I did search online but didn't see anything in regards to a factory ford dpf system interchanging between years.

You don't need to have it in Texas, last I checked. The benefits are many.

on Edit:

Diesels are exempt. I'd leave it alone if it were me.

You do have to have it in texas for a legal inspection. Some counties do an actual emissions test and some only do visual inspection.

That's good the egr is still on the truck, the last 6.7 i traded in, the valve was frozen when I put it back to stock, dealer had to replace it. Also check the wiring harness for the dpf, if the connections were left wide open they could be corroded.

FWIW it's actually illegal for the dealership to sell a deleted vehicle, technically they are liable for it and you can hold them responsible for it.

I would go back to the dealer and have them make ir right. And put the factory tune back on it.

Not only are there Texas inspections but if you need a truck inspection to run commercially, you will fail with DOT

That would be awesome but I feel it has been to long at this point. It's been about 6 months now from purchase. I thought I would like having it this way but I don't care for it being loud and I have it always set to stock. Plus talking with people around its getting harder here to get an inspection. Being a used car lot I'm not sure how much of a fight it would be.

My bad. I thought you were LOOKING at purchasing your truck. Wonder if a call to a Ford service department could get the answer you need.
