I previously had a 2000 E350 that suffered a broken column shifter while I was in the woods. I had enough tools with me to cut a hole in floor and cobble a riding mower deck lift handle as a floor shifter. It worked so well I used it for 3 years. (Seriously)
I currently have a 2006 E350 that I would like convert to a floor shift. Any recommendations?
Are you keeping the automatic transmission? If yes then Hurst Shifter's come immediately to mind, assuming they have a mounting kit for the transmission case.
I do want to keep the 4r75w that's in it. Hurst doesn't have anything for that transmission. I'd like to find something cheaper than Lokar.
Good luck finding something that's in very, very low in demand or interest.
As a longer term van owner I'd hate to clog up my front floor with a shifter when the column-mount works perfectly as is. What's your reason or purpose having a floor shifter?

Dude that's so awesome. We jump.started a truck on the jobsite once using romex.
More than once, ive jumped my glow plug relay with a screwdriver to get my diesel to start. A fellow will do some amazing stuff to get his rig out of a jamb.

The reason: "I wanna". Seriously, the column shifter is working fine, even the OD button. 🤯 This van is an ex-handicap, hightop. The center console over the dog house is smaller than usual. There is lots of room. I think I may just fabricobble my own again, but a more "refined" version. The previous one was tight to the console and too the left, leaving plenty of access between the seats. This should be similar.
A shifter for a 4r70, 4r75 or AOD would all work. Clayton Machine and Lokar are the same company. If I purchase something it will most likely be a floor mounted one from Summit. I will just need to put the OD button on the dash or buy a fancy **** with a button. If/when I purchase or build something, I will post pics. It will be Spring at the earliest. I don't want to lay in the mud/snow replacing a working column shifter. 🤣👍
