I have an 03 6.0 and lately any time I try to fix something, the plastic pieces break or metal clamp s and clips or wore out of tension.
It just seems I can't touch anything with out it breaking. Is there a good place to order parts for the interior and exterior, or is the junk yard the only place to the odds and ends?
Can we just order an entire over head console with new LCD panel or do I have to tear it apart and do the light and lcd mods?
Sometimes I just want to remove and replace things.
a lot of those items are available you just need the part numbers, amazon especially has tons of the interior stuff for the Ex and Super Dutys.
A lot of stuff on amazon has only a part number, and no description, or fitment data, so if you search by vehicle you find nothing, search by part number and boom there it is.
Earlier today was a perfect example, for an 08 escape however, i searched for the fuel rail pressure sensor, found some hugely marked up ones, and nothing else, throw in the actual part number, bam there is the sensor, for 1/4 of the price of the others, even the same manufacturer, but it was listed only by its part number, with no other data.
Most of the new interior OE trim items are now very discontinued. There are a few bits here and there avail though. Exterior and mechanical parts are a bit more avail, especially if they were used on the SuperDuty trucks. Don't pass up an opportunity if there is an X in your local junkyard for sure. If you call your dealer looking for parts, they can do a full dealer and network search which includes companies like Vintage Parts, and Green Sales Co. Some parts you can find under the Dorman name too.
