2003 Ranger transmission problems
Hi everybody, I am new here to this site. Have got a lot of answers to my questions about my truck from this site so thought I would join. I do have a question. I have a 2003 Ranger Edge 3.0 engine and auto trans. My question is can I swap out a 5r55e Transmission with a 5r44e transmission? I recently had a transmission failure and bought a 5r44e thinking that is what I had in my truck. But after putting it in it will not work properly and after using the VIN decoder on this app I think I might have a 5r55e that I took out? Any help will be much appreciated.

Welcome, (officially), to FTE. Take your question(s) to the "Small Chassis Trucks", or the, "Miscellaneous", forums. The people who know the Rangers and transmissions will be hanging out in those forums.

Well I see I am in the wrong place. I will go to the Ranger forum. Also found my problem and the fix on another forum. Truck is running good. Since no one is interested about Rangers on this forum I won't go into details. Moving along to the Ranger forum
