Slip Yoke * Help! *
I posted this message with the subject 'Slip Yoke' and no one viewed it!
I have a '91 F-150 2wd and I am trying to replace a broken slip yoke. The problem is that I can't get the rubber seal on the transmission that the slip yoke fits into off so that I can replace it. It seems to be held in place with a flat metal ring, I just can't figure out how to get the ring off.
If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. It's going on four weeks now.

What I have done in the past is, use a flat head screw driver and tap the metal flange tword the center. Keep doing this all the way around the seal and it should pop out. You have to destroy it to get it out.
