Congratulations on a possible fix for our trucks!
Mine is a 2022 F450 Platinum.

That's strange... Earlier today before making my report to NHTSA there were no recalls shown for my VIN, but the same one is now there. Yay!

I appreciate you posting that. That's the first I've heard of a "recall" Ford sure hasn't contacted me about it. I'll definitely be on the dealer to take care of this next time I'm there. I'm nearly 25,000 full loaded. I don't need to use the runaway truck ramps!

I checked my VIN and it's on the recall list as well for the control module software update. From what it looks like, the recall notice was posted with the NHTSA on the 25th, so just a few days ago. Now to see how long it will take to get an official recall notice from Ford. So far there are no recalls listed on their support page for my VIN:

https://www.ford.com/support/recalls...YourVinNumber/

Of course, replace the YourVinNumber above with the actual VIN number of your truck.,

This is strange. I check it earlier today and received the following, but now it says no recalls.

First post but created a profile to share what I have learned.

Just got back from the dealer. They said there is a recall confirmed by Ford however there is no solution at this time.

The manager stated that he would call me as soon as a solution has been provided by Ford.

No recall for my VIN. My truck is Canadian, so maybe it is slightly delayed?

wonder what the software update is?
maybe less sensitivity to trailer wiring issues?
widen the gap of resistance on the lines before it sets a light or fault?
will be watching

Probably neither of those fixes. Like I mentioned previously, when I plugged in Forscan to download and save my As Built data, I noticed some tripped DTC trouble codes. At least 2 of them said something along the lines of "Loss Of Communications with Trailer Control Module". My thought is that was the issue, and the firmware fix corrects that problem. There may be some other bugs it fixes, it's hard to say. Not being privy to Ford's software development notes, I'm just taking a wild guess

Called dealer this morning to have this recall done. Asked dealer if software fix is available, he said it was. Scheduled for 4/6. Hopefully this works I have had a few intermittent problems that I thought were in the trailer plug. Last week started truck and brake control module fault lit up for a few seconds then went out. First time I've seen this.

My 5th Wheel is at the camper dealer now trying to figure out why I have random brake problems. Have had problems since the day we purchased it. They said they might have found a bad ground in the brake circuit. After seeing a post about the recall on one of the Facebook pages I just called the Ford dealer and explained what was going on and they are getting me in at 2 this afternoon for the recall.

Haven't had a problem with my smaller enclosed trailer, but haven't pulled it near as much as my 5th wheel.

Mine is Canadian as well and I just picked up the truck about 3 weeks ago. I just checked in Fordpass and the recall is there.

Edit...just called dealer and they see the recall but they have nothing for it as of yet.

Just called my dealer. They have the software and will take care of the other recall for the under body heat shield also. Going in Monday for both.
