2020 Errors and bad fuse
Been having an issue with my 2020 F250 approximately 14 months old and about 9000 miles on it. I went to get in it, as normal one morning and it wouldn't come out of park. Dug around, finally figured out I have a blown fuse..fuse 7 to be exact.
Didn't think much of it..replaced the fuse all was well for about 2 weeks. Fast fwd 2 weeks, and it did it again. Replaced fuse..again, but this time the fuse started popping immediately after putting it in the slot.
I also started getting "pre-collision assist not available" "hill start assist not available" and the cruise control doesn't work about 2 minutes after the truck starts moving.
Took it to the dealer, and they took 3 days to tell me that there's a short in the wiring harness. Another tech told me a short in the harness probably would have shown immediately when the truck was new and he doesn't believe this is the problem. I also don't believe a short to be the case, because I finally propped open the lockout switch, and the fuse is not blowing now, however the pre collision, and hill start errors are still there and cruise isn't working. I've seen some posts where the cruise control module goes bad and this happens. Unfortunately, due to COVID I cannot get the truck into another dealer, or at best they need the truck for an open ended amount of time. I cannot be without the truck as it's my construction company vehicle, and we are wide open right now.
Just looking for some ideas/opinions, etc. I thought about just buying a new interlock switch to see if that solves the issue, but a DIY replace parts as you go normally doesn't pan out well on these new vehicles.
Thanks in advance!
Worth a mention anyways....
