Stopped by my local Ford dealer on Friday and showed the sales rep my "build your own" for a 2021 Ranger XL super cab 4x4 with a few upgrade packages, he filled out the paper work and gave it to the manager to process the order.
Went over the order for approval before signing off and found stuff that I didn't want..... come to find out the order was based on 2022 Ranger and options have changed. One change that
disappointed me was that the STX appearance package no longer comes with 18" wheels and that killed the deal, will wait till Ford updates to the 2022 Ranger on their web site and see what's offered for package info before visiting the dealer again. Good luck with your 2022 order.

18" wheels are on our 2022 order. However, we do intend to review the order this week to make sure there are no mistakes.
I ordered a 22 Ranger but in an XLT, reviewed the order form for the 22 and I approved it but I don't expect it for a while yet. If you ask your dealer, they should be able to send you the ordering info pages (Packaged Options/Equipment Group/Colors), everything you need to know will be on the ordering page with the options. Looks like only a $317 price increase Vs the 21 Model-so far. Ford moved the late 21 builds to the 22 model, so I'm sure mine was pushed back. The STX is a nice pkg but you can't get the Medium Stone interior with it and I'm not seeing the 18" wheels unless it is an option you can get added on with the STX. Ford did confirm my 2022 order.
Ya, looks like I'll stop by the dealer and get the ordering page info, Fords website is still showing 2021 build info for the Ranger & F150, all other models show 2022 build options. Ford has a commercial on the "TV" pushing "build It your way with the options you want" ....... will see if I can order heated leather seats in the XL, LOL!!
2022 was pushed back to start now on Dec 15th, previously it was the 13th. Maybe once production begins the Build-it your way will be updated.
Any idea how long it should take from Dec 15th? Mine was ordered in Sep, I assume they are building it as a 2022 and possibly one of the first ones on the list. Given Christmas period coming up, I don't expect a delivery until January. My dealer gave me the order number, but since I'm in Canada, the online tracking number doesn't work. Should I expect a few weeks or a few months still?
21's here are still being delivered at the dealerships, only the dealer in your case can look into the status of your order. They should know if it is a 21 or a 22. Ask your dealer if your Ranger has an assigned vin, if no vin then you are like the rest of us, the waiting game.
They didn't give me a VIN yet, so I assume I wait! When did you order?
Yea, sorry to say, no vin means a wait.
I first ordered on October 27th, then after just about 20 days later I cancelled the order.
I re-ordered on November 27th with a different dealer and out-of-State as well.
I just visited the Ford.com page and if you click on the Ford Badge it takes you to their listings, scroll down to Order your New Ford and the 2022 Ranger Ordering is there.
Checked out the Ford Badge as suggested but it's for ordering a vehicle..... I don't want to order one just yet but would like to go over the option packages & $$ on Ford's build & price page before visiting any dealer to negotiate & place an order. Thanks for your help.
I just checked KBB for the price my 2019 Ranger would get and it showed that the truck was now worth $5000 more than what I paid. Pricing on Ford's web site for an equivalent was $2000 less than my used Ranger!. I'd like to buy a new Ranger, but I've been holding off hoping Ford would start offering the 2.7L engine.
