I saw a thread on here other day talking about a “scale” feature on the latest fordpass update. Anyway I updated and sure enough it was there. Well I went back to look at it again and its not on there anymore. I redownloaded the app and still no good. Am I going crazy or anyone else have this happen too. Thanks
You could put in your trailer gwr and it would tell how much more payload would be left on your truck if any, and such. Just neat to look at. I wouldnt really use it to scale a load.
Back in April they tried adding something like this to the Fleet site. It didn't last long, got taken down a couple weeks later. Popular speculation at the time was it was a liability problem because it was just estimating, not actually looking at equipped options and the real measured payload numbers per VIN.
FordPass app history for Apple does have this listed though. Onboard Scales and Smart Hitch refers to the actual scale sensors they started putting in some F150s:
I saw that as well. The numbers were completely wrong for my truck. According to the app I have a very special SRW F350 with the 27,500 lb GVWR and a 60,000 lb GCWR. It pretty much said I could tow anything I want. They still have some bugs to work out. Maybe that's why they took it away.
I had the ability to check payload and estimate trailer capacity for three or four days. The APP knew my truck based on VIN and showed 4033CCC which is correct. Now it's gone.
