My dad just took delivery of his 2022 6.2 crew cab and wants a locking gas cap. I can't seem to find any info on them for the 2022's. Does anyone have a locking cap on their '22 gas truck and if you do, can you send me a part number for it please. I've got a 2017 6.2 and my cap is different than his new truck's. Mine has the small lugs that drop in and engage but his factory cap is the screw in type like on his 2002 7.3 diesel. Thanks in advance.
Are you running this cap? I couldn't find anything, and this one seems to be a different thread than my 19'. It's harder to turn as well. Why - no idea?
Not yet. My reply is based on what several threads in this forum said about locking gas caps. If you're doing the homework for your father, why not use the search function offered above?

I think you misunderstood. My 2019 F450 and my 2022 F350 seem to have a different cap on them. You posted as though you know this caps fit's. I don't think there is a locking Diesel cap on the market at this time as I've call two manufacturers and both said no. I was hopeful you found one, which is why i ask.
Not sure why the "your father" comment, and I've used the search feature which is what led me to make the manufacturer calls myself. Having a bad day?

I apologize in that I mistook your post as coming from the OP. The OP was talking about a 6.2 gas engine in his father's truck, and here's a post saying the 10510Y cap worked on a 7.3 gas truck ... https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post19807385
I sold my 2017 6.7L KR and never tried a locking fuel cap on it, but I'll probably try the 10510Y on my 2022 7.3L KR.
Ya I appreciate the "your father, use the search feature" comment too as if i didn't try the search already. Surprisingly, i Did go there first and I read several posts about the 7.3 motor and caps but none regarding a new 6.2 engine gas cap, hence the reason for my new post and question. I apologize if I upset a few sensitive people but I was simply hoping for an answer from someone who has found and is using the proper cap or a lead on where to research the proper cap.

No need to apologize about sensitive people here. As with most online forums, a thick skin is pretty much a prerequisite. [LOL] I wish I could have provided hands-on experience, but I haven't gotten around to ordering my fuel cap yet. The two gas engine trucks ... 6.2 & 7.3 ... "should" use the same cap.
If you are looking for a diesel cap, I have not found one yet. They changed to threaded in at least the 2021 model. I bought one for a 2020 and it was a quarter turn thread, mine was a full thread.
Since the OP asked about a locking fuel cap for the 2022 6.2L gas engine....I can confirm as of today the Stant 10510Y did not work for the 2022 6.2L gas truck.
