No kidding, I found this out when replacing my clutch. I have a 65-86 version of chilton's. I think it listed the torque for 1-2 particular applications, none of them mine. We wound up picking the one that was closest in application and using it. At a glance these manuals seem to have it all covered, but when you read a little closer, things are skimmed over or just plain left out. Still, for 10-15 bucks, they are very useful.
