Does anybody know which wheel center ornament cap is on my 2022 SD F250 Lariat? Had a little accident that damaged one rear wheel center cap, so called up dealer while out of town but without the truck, quoted the vin and got the part number and a nice new cap that the guy said would be oem. Part #HC3Z 1130 J.
Trouble is, it doesn’t fit!
Had the truck only two months, bone stock 18 inch oem wheels but although the new cap looks identical, it’s not nearly deep enough to go onto the wheel and I can’t find one on any dealer website that looks right, just crappy images with no clear details.
I'm thinking you must have the diesel with high capacity tow package, Dana rear axle. But that part# shows as fitting an F-350 too which would also have that axle, and the VIN should have insured the right part. Can you pop the good cap off and look for a part #?
How about HC3Z1130K....pretty sure this is the one for F-250 w/6.7l and high capacity tow pckg.
Thanks for posting 4wd6.7L. I omitted to say I have the 7.3L w camper package. Does this include the Dana axle?
I’m a first time truck buyer, it was ordered with oem wheels for the F250 Lariat CC LB and after a lengthy chat with a dealer parts guy today, we decided that the wheels must have been swapped out during build.
I need to look for a part # or take a cap to the dealer. I’ll get the answer and post up.
I'm not completely up to speed on the 7.3l configurations but I think I've read that the 4.30 rear ratio will get you the Dana rear on a 250. Do you have the 4.30 gear ratio? Look into that part# I posted ending in K. That might be the deeper version of that style cap.
That’s an interesting theory. Yes, I did order the 4.30 ratio axle and looked again for the part # you suggested on the website of the dealer where I bought the truck, also that of the different dealer where the cap came from.
Trouble is, none of them display a definitive image of one cap with any part #, only a range of optional types and numbers that MAY have been installed, even if the vin is entered.
I’ll search for a number on the cap and probably ride out to the dealer again.
Just looked at the door jamb sticker. GVWR IS 10000 LB, rear GAWR is 6340 LB. Does this give us a clue as to the Dana axle I wonder?

The GVWR and GAWR don't really say much, other than it's an F-250. There is an axle code listed on the white sticker, but you would have to decipher it. I did read a bit more through a couple of threads and it does appear that the 4.30 ratio gets you the Dana rear axle. The ends of the Dana axle protrude farther out past the hub face compared to the Sterling. That's why you are having an issue with the part they gave you. It is odd that the VIN didn't produce the correct part# though, or the part guy simply gave you the wrong part. There are a few options of that same style center cap with varying depths, the part ending in J having the least depth(2.5"). Ending in K looks to be 3.75" deep. I would just pull the other cap off and use it to get the correct part.
Texted guy that sold the truck today and asked for the correct part # for a cap that will fit. He was puzzled why the mismatch and was going to speak with parts dept. As you say, # ending with J is around 2.5” deep (the one I was sold). Interestingly, there’s no discernible part # inside it like anything showing online and it looks like someone took a Dremel stone to the mould tool all around and it shows in the cap!
Hopefully the sales guy will get back and we can work something out.
‘Other than that I reckon the correct one is 3.75” deep with the K suffix and sure looks like the image you posted, so I’ll take your good advice and use the old one as a pattern to show and post up the result.
Appreciate your time researching and posting very much.
