Hey guys. I just picked up a early 70s Custom F350 and I'm trying to decode the Vin. Mostly trying to find a year. The websites told me everything but the year. Or I'm just not understanding it. The Vin is F35BKL86800. I'm not seeing anything about a L86800. A lot of them have F----- and other letters but not an L. Also I was curious to why they didn't fill out the codes for the Axle, trim, trans, etc. They're just blank. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
You need to look at the Safety Certification sticker (white sticker) on the dvrs side B pillar. See this one... 2-79... (FYI it is a Bronco, but this was just to show you a example of that to look for). It is a Feb 1979 manufactured vehicle. And the Warranty Plate on the dvrs door end edge to get the other info.
