Hi everyone, km new here. So i have a 1997 ford f250hd supercab. 7.3ps 4x4. With a e4od.
Symptoms, no first gear weather i am in D or in manual 1. I checked line pressure. It was in spec at idle and stall. Still no movement. (I did notice that when rpms get up over 2k rpms it kinda starts to move).
Symptom 2: when i first start driving truck will shift into overdrive. But after a few miles like (10miles). It will no long shift into OD.
Is the OD light flashing? How is the fluid level and color?
OD light is not flashing. When i first got the truck, it was over filled. I drained some of the fluid. Color isn't horrible but not awesome.
reverse is strong engages fine and works as it should i guess.
So, i have another issie with this transmission. Aside from losing OD when it warms up. I was playing with the shifter shifting from P R N D 2 1. I noticed that if its in D or 2 and truck is moving "like at idle speed" then shift to 1 truck stops as if i shifted into P. Ill have to rev passed 2k to get the truck to creep.
Any ideas?
Someone told me that the high rev can be a dirty filter.
Local transmission shop said they doubt its the clutches since i have revse and other gears.
