Hi there, my name is Glen...... and I apologize if this is the wrong place to ask, (i'm totally new to any forum and don't do the social media thing) but, I have a 69 E100 Van with a 240 I6 and looking to do the 302w swap. Is there a 302 cross-member needed for this install, (Factory?? After market) as everything looks as though the 302 will sit too far forward.
Any advice would be very helpful
Cheers Glen
A friend put a 302 in his in the I6 cradle, flip the transmission mount around and use the rear holes but the I6 doghouse will no longer fit, you need one from a V8, next you will find it always runs hot, you will need a custom radiator, which requires a modification to the top tank to miss the power brake booster, if you have manual brakes, you will be after the power brake setup next. Don't expect much from this bunch on the 68-74, few have knowledge in it, those who do, their head is too big!
