Timeframe for new F350

Wondering if anyone else is having the same issue.
ordered 2022 f350 XLT 4x4 May 16, 2021
Received confirmation email from Ford June 15, 2021

Have not heard anything since then. We have contacted our dealer for updates, and really getting no where with them. We knew there was going to be a wait, but the way it's going it'll be next year before we get the truck.

Hundreds of stories just like yours, and hundreds just the opposite.

Mine was 10 weeks order to delivery.

Early orders have been taking the longest, Ford changed their order process end of spring, many dealers did not make the change and orders have been delayed.

It also depends on what you ordered, many options are still not available.

You will just have to hammer your dealer for details, keep bugging them until they get you some answers,

My May 31 order was just picked up at the end of October, after they put my priority at 1 (was 2 for a couple months). Keep on the dealer and make sure the zone rep is involved. They are scheduling into mid-January now, so no way you'll see your new truck before February now. Sucks, but hang in there! Maybe place another order at a different dealer and buy the one that comes in 1st.

My F350 order

Personally, I'm getting very frustrated with Ford. Ordered mine on Sept 10th. The last email I received from them was that the build date had been changed to the week of Nov 15th. Nothing since then. My Dealer was no help either. The last I heard from them was Dec 10th. I just think I should have gotten some kind of email from Ford. I just wrote my salesman an email telling him that perhaps I should order from another dealer as someone else in this post suggested, and see which comes in first. I didn't order anything special. A dually 350 deisel xl with the STX package and towing.

Well that is disappointing to hear the builds are going into February. We did not order anything special so should not be difficult to build. Lol. I'll ask about what priority we are set at. Will also call some other dealers. We locked in a great price so really do not want to change our order. Thanks for all the replies I'll let you know what happens.

I am with you. May 6 order date and crickets from ford. I have a really good cpa discount I will loose if I try to reorder so I guess I am going to wait and see. My dealer did just email me and said another customer who ordered in April just was scheduled so there’s hope.

I thought I was having a bad time with ordering and build dates. I had no correspondence from Ford and minimal from my dealer. My truck was delivered 4 months after ordering. I guess I shouldn't complain after hearing others' stories.

Did you get any more correspondence before they delivered the truck? I just hate being kept in the dark, and when I go to order tracking the status never changes.

I had zero messages from Ford and only 3 from dealer. Yes, watching the tracking pages is excruciatingly slow. I guess it's the way things are now. You can be patient or order a different truck through another dealer. It won't get the first on built sooner but, maybe, the new order will arrive before the original order

that's what I've been thinking of doing. Ordering from another dealer. I sort of "Threatened" my salesman with doing exactly that yesterday via email. I'll see if he responds, and will also go visit him in person after the holiday. Surely they have a little more "power" with Ford than I do. After all, the dealer want's to sell the truck. I'm not really different dealers have any better luck, so I guess I'm stuck waiting. I'm just paranoid that they've (Ford) have misplaced my order or something lol. Priority 19, seems high to me. I wonder how I can get that changed.

I ordered July 3rd and had an email from Ford that day. Build was scheduled on 8/12 for the week of 9/23, plus about three weeks shipping. Then they pushed my build back a week. I went online and found a truck. Not the truck I ordered but a very nice new truck nonetheless. I bought a plane ticket and drove a new truck home. Not the most convenient option, and I paid msrp but I have a new truck and I have been using and enjoying the **** out of it. I have had it 9 weeks and it has over 9000 miles on. Three trips over 1000 mi, two towing.

Ordering is great when it isn't a crap shoot. The truth was posted above, it can go either way with no rhyme or reason. I didn't want to end up being one of those waiting forever, 4 months was too long. It is just a truck, I will probably trade it off ion a few years anyway. Super happy with what I have. If the world ever snaps out of this funk maybe I will order next time. Crazy uncertainty on orders and pretty long known wait times. Have a look at on the ground inventory. Slim for sure but you never know.

I truly believe most of the ordering delays are because the dealers have been mis-handling them.
Ford changed their ordering process completely for sold retail orders, and if the dealer doesn't follow the new procedure then they get pushed back.
If the dealer puts an order in as a stock order, that also pushes it back to the end of the line.
Also, quickest priority code for retail orders is 10, not 2 or 1.

Just ordered a 2022 on Wednesday and hoping it goes smoothly. Appears to be priority 10 from the DORA sheet. Deciding when I should sell my current truck, will probably wait until I get the “scheduled” email and then go from there as I won’t need a truck until May.

Can a dealer even put in a stock order? When I placed mine I had to provide a copy of my driver's license. I offered $1000 deposit, which I've never done when ordering in the past. They said $500 was good so I went with that. Sales manager says that they have to prove to Ford who the truck is being sold to because dealers were just supplying random names in a ploy to get trucks to put on the lot.

They also made me provide my DL. I asked about a deposit but they said they didn’t need one because if I didn’t want it at any point they would just sell it off the lot for more than I paid for it. Granted I have a great relationship with my dealer and I deal with the GM directly
