The serial number range is published for each model year. Early 1960s and late 50s had a number in the vin indicating the model year. In the 17 digit VIN introduced in 1981, there is a letter in the VIN indicating model year.

Thanks 85e150. So where can you find the published serial numbers for the 70’s? I need to verify so law enforcement can properly fill out aT22 form so i can get a tag.
