I've been here for ages with my various Super Duty trucks but this is going to be our first Ford SUV! My wife had been looking to get a used 2019 - 2020 Ford Escape, but we were coming up empty! She had a major, life changing, Medical issue during the months of August/September and she's decided to cash in a couple of her CD's and buy a Bronco instead! Being in her mid-sixties, I convinced her that the Bronco Sport would be much more suited to her than a full on Bronco with monster tires (that would make me jealous!) She agreed and we found a 2021 Bronco Sport Big Bend w/3849 miles that a older man who had a 2017 Ecosport purchased and didn't like, so traded back in for a 2021 Ecosport??? I test drove it first with the intention of switching off and having my wife drive it back to the Dealership - she said "I don't need to drive it - I love it already!" We went back to the dealer, had them drive her 2012 Fusion and give us a trade-in value (which actually was $2k higher than we were expecting), they accepted our offer of $1500 less than they were asking and gave us a great price on an extended warranty! Deposit <check>, Paperwork Signed <check>, appointment made w/Fin Adv to handle CD's <check> - should be picking up on Tuesday. 11/23/21!!! AND, it's Hers but she keeps saying "It's OURS'"! After 3 back surgeries, two titanium rods and and 4 titanium screws in my lower back, it'll be nice to be able to leave the F-450 home more often!!!
Welcome to the Group. How do you two like the Bronco Sport, and great choice on the color?
Sorry for the late reply... I wasn't seeing any action, so I joined a couple of "Bronco" groups. We both love it... the thing handles incredible, I can't believe the power this little 1.5l 3 cylinder pushes out with a turbo attached to it! It makes our 2012 2.5l FI Fusion (that we traded in) look silly. And still gets better mileage than the Fusion, as well! I had looked at the old, boxy style Ford Escapes, prior to the makeover, years ago, and I think this is a bit larger than those were. The funny part was, when we drove it into the garage, we found it was shorter and a touch narrower than the '12 Fusion - a plus for garage space but a BIG surprise!!! I haven't tried any off-road yet (because it's primarily my wife's and she won't let me ) Once we get some snow, I'll know a bit more how it's going to handle in 4X4... we have a pretty steep driveway and the Fusion rarely left the garage. Took this shot of the "Clan" two days ago... our Keystone Cougar 5th wheel, my '19 F-450 and the new Bronco...
Glad to see you're liking yours. I, too, am surprised at the size. It feels bigger, especially while sitting in it, but the quick turning radius is enjoyable.

I really like the Grey... I just did that same "shot" with my dually, the other day... makes the Bronco look way too short, but still a total blast to drive!!! Happy Holidays!!!
Yep, I'm surprised at how roomie it feels to be such a small vehicle. I think what helps are the Long-Tracks on the driver and passenger seats. We went "4x4" just on the fire roads, LOL. I wasn't driving so can't really add my two cents, but no raddles or issues from the passenger seat.
We have rain today but should have snow next week, looking forward to seeing how it handles. It looks so small next to that 450. My X should be close to that length, but I shot the pic from the upper level. Keep us posted on how it handles in the snow, and congrats love the color.

I am not looking forward to the snow (But I am looking forward to the snow now that we have the Bronco) because the F-450, 4X4 and all, flat out SUCKS in the snow! I keep talking about changing the tires but it's only got 22k miles on it and 6 - 19.5s are not cheap!!! Plus, every tire I decide on, ends up NOT being available due to "Supply Chain" issues!!! We're taking the 5th wheel to FL in February for a warm weather trip, so that will end the "snow fun" for a while anyway!

I had to sit yesterday for 3 hrs waiting for a mountain pass to open due to snow and multiple spin outs. I swapped out the stock tires on the Bronco for Cooper Discoverer AT3's in 235/65R17. They did fantastic in the snow - really happy with this rig so far.
Yea, that grey color looks good. We finally had our first snowfall, mostly rain, 1/4" of ice in the morning. I'm going to wait on changing out the factory tires, but I will check out the Cooper Discoverer AT3's in 235/65R17. I put Cooper on the BMW525 in the 90s and was very happy with the handling, wear, and especially the price.
OK don't laugh we consider this snow in California. It was heavier in the morning, well a little bit. Happy Holidays, Drive Safe on the Mountain Roads
Well, that was surprising. Very satisfied with the GOAT in the snow even with the factory tread tires. Took along the EX and tow ropes for backup. Fresh snow first on the trails. The best mid-sized, small SUV I have driven in the snow. I had GOAT on the whole time, and the EX stayed in 2 wheel drive and little fishtailing, Yeeeha!
Let me know your thoughts after your drive in the snow, I think our storm is headed your way.

So, did you have it in slippery mode with the GOAT dial? I've done snow in normal and slippery. It's been fine in normal. Slippery changes the throttle response but it almost felt like too much of a change and really slow response.
The wife had it in Slippery mode and when we switched vehicles I took it easy during my first drive in the snow, so I didn't notice. We have a week of snow and ice so I'll pay closer attention to the throttle response.
Got a few pictures in the local Park before the snow fell, then one of Patti snow driving... I told her I wanted a snow picture, and mind you, this woman has NEVER driven an offroad vehicle (it's hers). i had her put it in "Sand" mode and pointed to our local Little League Field Parking Lot which had not been plowed, and said "Let's go down there and get some pics!" She drove down, looked at the 18" snow bank out front from the plows and didn't even blink - wham, right through it, into the lot, with this cute grin on her face! Buzzing around in the 8" of fresh powder like a Pro... I think I've created a Monster!
