Auto tailgate…. The closed position..

Just a little first world “problem” gripe…. So my neighbor has a new Chevy 3500 LT and I have a new Platinum F350.
We both can release the tailgate with a simple button but as he drove off he showed he could also close his tailgate automatically. And the LT isn’t the top of the line. Come on Ford….
but really, I love my new truck a lot. Just thought it was funny for the difference in money and it doesn’t have that feature lol

Heck I miss the fact that my Chevy had a soft open on the tailgate. The Ford (without power) just slams down like a 1960’s farm truck lol.

I am waiting for the auto close doors because I really hate having to pull it myself.

Just another thing to break on a work truck.

GM is full of gimmicks because they can't sell as many trucks as Ford.

The tailgate dampener was one of the first add ons I installed on my 22 XLT, and I love it!

If you want all the newest tech and convenience features in a Ford truck you have to look to the F-150. Pretty sure the 150 can be had with a power open and close tailgate.
It eventually trickles down to the Super Duty line.

Just FYI the 2021 F150 has power close tailgate, I havent looked into that far but maybe could be added to a super duty or wait for the 2023 and get the tailgate off it?

Do like the dampened open - I’ve had that on a truck since 2010. But I’d really rather slam her shut myself….

It was my third mod! Totally worth the $16. Heck, it'd be worth a hundred, easy.

Bought one with FordPass points. That'll be coming off of the current 2020 to go on the new '22 when it arrives some day.

Its just the
OEM Tailgate dampener OEM Tailgate dampener
. Really easy to install and works great! DeeZee makes one that attaches without taking the tailgate off and is a little less expensive, but I wanted the OEM one. I think it looks cleaner.
