Newbie here. I've been scouring threads for weeks, haven't been able to find what I need.
Long story short - have an '05 Ford F-350 v10 gasser chassis and PCM. Aftermarket transmission gauge is in used so Ford computer knows nothing about the tranny, thus the PCM reports to check the trans temp. My research has shown that a 10k ohm resistor on the TFT 923 circuit will resolve this problem and that I'd want to wire this up on pins 29/41 for the PCM transmission connector.
So here's my lame question - which of the three connectors on the PCM is the Transmission PCM connector? Of the three, two look identical, the third is larger (pretty sure its not this one).
Also of value - yes, its a Cummins in a Ford cab with an Allison - each which has its own computer. On the Ford PCM, only TWO of the three connectors are hooked up, so it leads me to believe that this unconnected one is what I want, but my head is spinning in circles with so many variations of pinouts and years and models.
Thanks, thats for the diesel model. I'm have V10 PCM.
Anyway, I paid into the Ford service center for 72 hours and found what I needed. In reviewing the connectors and what I have, I chased the pins and it makes sense and was what I suspected. The 50 pin connector on the left is for the transmission, and mine isn't connected at all. The middle 50 pin is for the body and I have a good chunk of those all wired up. And the 70 pin on the right is for the engine, of which I have a handful which make sense to be required.
No prob, appreciate the attempt. Happen to know where I can purchase a digital copy of these guides and docs? I have the shop manual on CD but that doesn't include the wiring schematics and connector views.
Ford puts all the wiring/plugs/harness layouts in a separate book, you can find new and used online, here’s one on eBay, look around and you mite find a better deal.
