I have 1988 Ford Ranger 2.9L Automatic, I would like to see a picture of the engine bay, particularly the battery and cables.
My Ranger had a wire going into the positive terminal that I think should be on the negative terminal. The wire is black with light green tracer and it leads to a splice both on the wiring diagram and in the Ranger. I checked for continuity at the wire from the EEC relay (BK/LG, 60) to the connector (C136). I bought a new EEC because I fried the one in the Ranger (Or so I think). Before I plug in the new EEC and start the Ranger, I would like for someone to post a picture of their battery cables. I would like to see the negative cable and the leads that come out of it (to chassis ground and connector). I would also like to see the positive cable and the leads that go to the starter solenoid.
What is the source for the wiring diagram you have shown? Why does nothing come off the positive terminal of the battery? It looks like the right most wire from the negative battery terminal should go to the positive battery terminal.
