Hello everyone, I'm here with another radio problem. It seems like almost everyone here has had on. OK, I have a 1999 explorer Limited and this is my problem. I have the mach radio system and everything works fine except for the subwoofer. I have removed the rear quarter panal and unwired everything. I checked the input wires for power and there was juice. I stuck speaker wires into the slots and hooked up a little speaker to see if there was audio feed coming in, nothing. I'm not sure if there would be enough audio feed to power a little speaker or not. Then I checked the wires under the dash behind the passanger kick plate and notice that there are 6 wires going into and out of the wiring harness but only 5 going into the amp. I am going to take out the radio and check behind it to see where these wires connect to and check those for trouble. My question is this, what could be wrong here? Why is there 6 wires going in but only 5 out? Should there be 6 going into the amp? I am a new owner of this beautiful ride and I would love to enjoy everything it has to offer. Any help will be really appreciated. Thanks in advance.... Nick.
i think there are 2 amps behind rear panel 1 works fact sub
you could try a yard for one
you could connect aftermarket amp to same box and hide amp behind panel.
usually bad sub shorts burns out amp
good luck

'98-present Explorers with dual media (CD/Cassette) players have the amp included with the receiver. With a MACH system or the Audiophile system, there's a sub amp only in the back along with the sub.
Anyways...check if the wires are broken from the connector to the cone of the speaker. My stock sub had that same problem. Good luck!!!
The amp can/will only have Power, Negative, 2 RCA wires, remote wires and possibly remote bass switch which is more than likely not there....Find out which is which, More than likely if it has power, it is the remote wire or RCA's....
