1990 7.3 diesel engine

quick question

There is a sensor with two wires screwed into the top of the timing cover next to the oil cap. it's leaking a little oil.

what is it exactly, and can it just be unscrewed and replaced??

That would be your tach sensor. If the tach still works just un-screw the sensor and put in a new seal or o ring.

the tach works fine, I just don't like the mess the leaking is making
