Pretty sad to drive by the local Ford dealer's in my area. NO new trucks, only a couple of new Broncos and used cars. Other Ford dealer has some, maybe 4 cars and a couple 250 with service bodies??
Driving by a few days ago by one of them, two sales people were leaning against the buildings architectural outside arches and they looked asleep standing uptight! Probably told to get out on the lot?
WATZIT like in your area?

Same out here, almost exactly, including the service body trucks. Been like this for quite some time though, not new. I have always found the salesman to congregate outside, usually smoking cigarettes or just shootin the crap with other salesman.
Back in August we went to a high volume dealer in Louisville, to see Antimatter Blue in person before we made our purchase. The lot was probably 85% empty. 6 F-150s, 2 SD's. We were there for 15 minutes or so, never saw a salesperson. The Ford dealership here in Shelbyville (20 mi E of Louisville) has reasonable amount of stock on the lot, for the smaller dealership that it is.
My local dealer has zero new trucks, nothing. They do have a decent selection of pre-owned trucks though.

The dealer I bought my 21 F250 from doesn't have much. Didn't count. When I bought mine in June it was the only one like it. It came in on Friday and they advertised it on line. I called and made an appt. to look at it and we drove it home around 2PM that next day. People where amazed I'd found/bought a new Ford truck.
Chevy is as bad off as Ford, maybe worse?? When my mom bought her new little SUV in June the dealer nearest her in Summersville, WV had three new cars on their lot. She bought one and that left them with only two. No trucks she told me, just a car and another slightly larger SUV/Crossover, whatever they call them these days.
The two cars I traded in on the F250 were priced high as hell by the dealer and both sold within a week. The asked more for the Expedition than I paid for it two years ago.
I've been back to that dealer a couple times since I bought the truck and their used car lot numbers have dwindled down pretty far, too.

Do you think Ford will actually build dealer stock for the 2022 model year? I ask because I recently ordered a new F 350 and probably 3 different dealers told me that Ford was not going to put dealer stock out on the lots for MY 2022 and that everything will be ordered by the customer. They also said that if I saw a Super Duty on the lot it was more than likely a truck that someone had ordered but refused to take delivery once it had arrived.

Dealerships here are pretty bare. When I bought my '21 a year ago, the dealer had 3 new SDs on the lot, 2 6.7s and their 6.2 plow truck, which was a brand new left over from '20. They said they couldn't keep any 7.3s on the lot for more than a few days and the 6.7s usually lasted a couple weeks. The last few times I've gone by, there's only F150s and crossovers, no SDs. I talked to a salesman friend of mine a few weeks ago, and he said they've got a bunch of trucks on order for the lot, but all Ford is currently sending them is customer orders.
This isn't limited to just the Ford dealership, they all look about the same here. The used car lots have a pretty steady rotation going though.

At my south Atlanta dealer, when my auto carrier arrived with my truck it doubled their inventory. 2 Super Duty, one of them mine on the truck. Arrived Tuesday afternoon, gone by Wednesday close of business since they were all sold in advance. They didn't advertise any new arrivals, but they put up pictures on social media.
New unsold, some F-150s, Escorts, a Ranger. Maybe 6 total
A few nice used F-150s, Escorts and a mix of SOBs, 10 -12 in all.
