Can anyone identify the connector with the white tape over the loom?
It was dangling there as I began removing the wiring for an aftermarket remote starter which (I think) is part of my no crank issue. There's much less rats nest in my way now but I don't see where this might fit, hopefully it's one that might lead to fixing the issue.
So far I've yanked the alarm, put in a new keyed switch, tightened the two arm screws at the base of the shift tube, replaced the shift tube bushings & shift lever (o.d. **** was ripped open) but no luck.
Still looking for more wiring faults as this thing was a mess.
Well, I have an 03 F350 5.4L 4x4 and I've had the whole cluster out and removed the fuse block and I can honestly say My truck does not have that connector wrapped in white tape so Could it be aftermarket wiring? Could it be OEM wiring someone hacked into and taped back up???

It's definitely a possibility. Before putting the dash back together I had another look & it seems to fit the theme of Ford wiring colors (one was blue/pink, can't recall the second) but the connector nothing in common with any parts either aftermarket or stock.
As far as the alarm/remote start everything was covered tightly in double layers of black electrical tape, I'm still trying to find where all of those strays lead under the hood so I don't have that rats nests causing undue resistance being piggybacked off another wire or possibly grounding out being as worn as they are from road salt & heat cycles.
Edit- I did get the truck fired up, when I tested the starter with jumper cables the bendix drive was engaging but I couldn't get it to spin. After knocking all the superficial spray paint which looks to be everywhere I found a pretty ugly starter to say the least. I've never seen one with a casing so rotted. It basically looked like a rotted/dented beer can.

On the right side of your photo there is a connection point with a brown plug in it with brown.green and blue wires. Looks to be a empty socket next to it on left, any possibility it plugs in there?
