Installing a new Accumulator on my 6.4 and the line with the o-rings protruding pictured below is giving me a hell of a time going back together. Just wanted to know if their are any tips on getting it in or is it just push as hard as you can until it goes together, because this SOB is not going in! Any help is appreciated!
Edit: Got it in with brute force, but shredded the three supplied o-rings on it. Tried it without o-rings on it went in smooth as butter, so thought maybe wrong o-rings were on it. So tried the three used one's from my old Accumulator and once again need brute force to push it in, but I don't want to shred these o-rings. Any Ideas???

Where did you get those O rings? If you got them from a universal O ring kit then throw them away and go get the correct ac o rings. They will be green. It looks like your o rings are too thick for the coupler to go together. Then before you install the coupler take a brush and coat the o rings with oil before trying to couple them together.

Found out the problem yesterday, o-ring groves were to small and the diameter of the ac line was bigger compared to the one that came off the truck. I put the one that was on the truck with new o-rings on with ease. Now I get to go drive back down to Ford today and explain to them that the Accumulator they gave me was garbage and that I need a new one.
