first post!

hello,
some background:
i bought a refurbished steering column earlier this year for my 1969 f100 auto the column included a new turn signal switch (he doesn't know which brand/company the switch is from).
the prior owner of my truck replaced factory wiring with painless performance wiring.
steering column is installed and now i am wiring the turn signals/brake lights to the refurbished column.
everything seems to be working except...the brake lights.
i have come to the conclusion the turn signal switch that was installed on the refurbished column does not include a RED with BLACK TRACER for the stop light switch.

i really don't want to take apart and replace column and i would like to stay away from aftermarket turn signal switch. i am hoping someone has an idea i haven't thought of to get the brake lights working.
as i type, i wonder if the RED/BLACK TRACER is IN the column, just not sticking out of the hole facing the floor of the truck.
i appreciate any ideas.
have a good one,
matt

Hi Matt,
Welcome to the board! It's not too hard to pull the wires back through the column, but you'll need a special tool (available at most parts stores) to remove the wires from the connector. I looked on Carolina-Classics website (carolina-classics.com) and Ricky has The turn signal switch for a '69. I bought a TS switch from him for my '72 and it was perfect.

I'm assuming the missing wire is up in the column. But just in case, 1969's had two different T/S switches. Before and after serial number ending with G30,001. Ford part numbers C9TZ13341C and D0TZ13341B. But both would have to have a wire fore the brake light switch.
