I know all the Kool Kids are putting Crown Vic IFS under their trucks, but not everyone wants to make irreversible changes to their truck. So, this leaves Drop Beams, and it's taken them awhile, but Nostalgia Sid's, aka: droppedaxles.com has their fixtures pretty much finished, and is about ready to start dropping peoples factory Twin I Beam forgings. (**3" drop)
I wish I'd found out about Penningtons beams before ordering DJM. I would have liked a bit more drop. Also because of the size of the tube DJM uses, there is some interference with the crossmember about the middle of the drivers side beam. I've dimpled the crossmember, but I think it needs a bit more. One other thing is the factory beams have a little "hooker" thing-a-ma-bob to limit the downward travel of the beam as it becomes unloaded. No provision for that on the DJM beams, so I'll have to fab something. Just so the shocks don't take the hit on a sudden unloading when I'm out doing Dukes of Hazzard style jumps

But, the DJMs are in, and that is it.
Man, when I was young and dumb I had my shortbed unibody airborne more times than I can remember. I was trying to convert it to 4wd with little knowledge and no help. I would try a suspension setup and head out to the field where there was a hefty berm and hit that thing in the top of 3rd gear just to see if something would break. I got towed back home more than once.
I reckon I am old enough to know better, but also old enough that the repercussions of bad decisions are less of a deterrent with each passing day! YeeHaww!
